The U.S. government has wimped out over and over when it comes to protecting us. They only act when watch dog groups or someone else manages to penetrate the secret records of companies. They want money and they are willing to kill people to get it. I don't know who they think will be left to buy their products. Well, yes I do the Chinese people. There are so many of them that no one will miss a few million.

I found this fascinating quote today:
In another refereeing abortion the refs kept Duke close in a game that would have seen Duke blown out had it not been for one sided calling by the referees in an obvious planned loss for Baylor. Duke mugged Baylor in their usual style of roller derby basketball. A style that allows an untallented team beat down opponents who have their hands tied behind their backs by the refs. This year has been the saddest example of refereeing since the days when Georgetown was allowed to run a muck. Dangerous fowls that have injured players, chronically, through out the year, lead to questions in my mind about the concerns for the players' safety. Incidences of taking the legs out from under players and elbows splitting heads open are becoming more the norm. Divinging infront of players who are driving to the basket has become a dangerous trend. This type of play will injure someone to the point of ending their carreer. It has lead to more and more one and done players who do not want to get injured. Frankly, the injury problem is lowering the amount of talent in the NCAA basketball family of teams. The talent has dropped like a rock in the past few years due to the fear that better players have of being injured. The points of emphasis that the NCAA stresses for the referees has lead to sub-par officiating. Travels,3 second violations, and uneven officiating are sytemic problems. All of this has taken away from the college game. Teams load up with one and doners and pound the rest of the teams in their leagues, who are simply no competition for them. The result is a lack of respect for the principles that make college basketball, so popular. It is falling to the point of figure skating with a ball. College football has become meaningless, because ten teams have a lock on the national title (and I use that term loosely, since it is all opinion and no substance. Now, college basketball is headed in the same direction. Leagues load up with teams that the big programs can obliterate. With the exception of the mid majors league winners are always won of 50 teams nationwide. The season is becoming meaningless.Myoungatheart5, The hidden news, Mar 2010

I found this fascinating quote today:
The Republican National Committee has target Democrats literally. Today the leader of the Republican National Committee refused to condemn death threats and attacks on Democratic offices. In it's most facsist attack on Democrats to this point Republicans and their pundents have create an atmosphere where death threats are acceptable. It can only be a short time before assasinations of Democratic leaders follows. Republicans have placed crosshairs on Democrats. They continue to whip their base into a mindless frenzy, which can only end badly. If the worst should happen they will of course deny any part in it, but the public will know different. When people spit on members of congress without consequences it shows the lack of respect that can lead to anything. Even though some republicans condemned this act, they did not apologize for creating the atmosphere that would encourage it. They have crossed the line and come to the verge of becoming criminally responsible for their indifference to the violence that has occurred. Should one person die, they should be charged as accessories.Myoungatheart5, The hidden news, Mar 2010

I found this fascinating quote today:
The referees allowed Kansas players to mug lea high for 40 minutes. In the first half Kansas tackled Lea high guards and the refs swallowed their whistles. They found them again when Lea high began to make a run on Kansas. With regularity they blew the whistle on lea high and closed their eyes when Kansas fouled until Lea high could not get close enough to guard Kansas players, because they didn't want to foul. It was a stunning win for the referees. They kept Obama's brackets intact and probably their own too, from the looks of it.Myoungatheart5, The hidden news, Mar 2010

The New Republicans
Image via Wikipedia
We should not have to support the health system. People die. That's just the way it is. It's just a fact of life that kids get sick and die. Why do we have to pay for it. Their shouldn't be unemployment insurance. That is big government. People should get their own insurance for that. The government shouldn't fund anything, but roads and National Defense. People can fend for themselves. If they are dumb enough to fall for scams and ripoffs, they deserve what they get. The private sector can protect the people. We don't need cops or law enforcement. We could save a lot of money by turning it all over to private companies.
We're not racists. we beleive that everyone has an equal opportunity in the United States. People should help their own people. If they took care of their own kind the government wouldn't have to do it.
People should help themselves. They shouldn't expect hospitals to foot the bill for their illnesses. They probably didn't take care of themselves and now they want us to pay. Let them die, we have too many people any way. We can't afford them.
We are Republicans and we are damn proud. We aren't going to let that black guy tell us what to do. We'll fix his tail. We'll just refuse to vote on anything. The people will see that he's not going to get anything done and vote him out. If they lose out, it will teach them not to vote for one of them again. Next they'll want a beaner in the White house.
We're going to put a stop to this before it goes any further. I know Harry Mitchell and the rest of the Republicans agree. They just can't say it straight out, so they let Rush and the rest of us Conservative talk show hosts to do it.
Is this The Republican point of veiw? I don't claim to know, but would it surprise you.

Broken Health Care: The Facts
Image via Wikipedia
1 You are paying for everyone who doesn't have healthcare now and for your own too.
2 About one out of six people do not have healthcare insurance.
3 Hospitals must treat people who are having a medical emergency until they are stable.
4 Since people are not getting preventative treatment, the illnesses that are treated by hospitals are more serious.
5 People who are dying and have no insurance stay in the hospital until they die.
6 More people without insurance are spending long periods in the hospital.
7 The cost of one day in the hospital can start at 5000 dollars.
8 The hospital gets payed for patients without insurance that they treat, including the medications they give those people.
9 Insurance companies are dropping coverage on people whenever possible when they get a serious illness.
10 There are millions of people on the brink of being elligable for medicare.
11 People have an amount deducted from their checks for medicare.
12 In the next 15 years there will be more people receiving Medicare than there are people working.
13 The government will be spending more than 50% of your tax dollars on healthcare in the next 10 to 15 years.
14 Healthcare cost are forcing the Federal Government to borrow more and more money from other countries.
15 If nothing is done to reform healthcare medical cost will exceed the amount of taxes that the government takes in.
16 Healthcare has become so expensive for state, county, and local governments that they have begun to cut services.
These are the facts. All you need to do is spend an hour googling the cost of healthcare to confirm this. The only question that you need to answer is; Do you want to spend one trillion now. Or do you want to wait and pay trillions later on when there are less people one the tax roles? You are going to pay. It's just a matter of time. Politicians just want to retire before you find out. After all, the money you donated for their campaigns is theirs after they retire and they don't ever have to worry about being uninsured.

Just Die! The Health Care Debate
Image via Wikipedia
It seems that job is putting everyone out of work by shipping their jobs overseas and watching them die and reduce the surplus population, when they don't get medical treatment. Why would they do this? It's simple. They want to keep the super riches taxes low. In eight years they didn't pass any bills that cut taxes for anyone in working class America. They didn't pass anti abortion law. They just can't be bothered with the people who vote for them.
They act like a bunch of spoiled 5 year olds. Dick Cheney, who led the conservative charge is busy rewriting history. I guess he thinks the more he runs his mouth, the more people will forget that he was in office when the bottom dropped out.
Republicans let banks run wild. They let the stock market sell worthless mortgages all around the world. Now, all of the countries in the world are in a great depression. No one can afford American goods. No one who is in government wants to tell you that things are going to get worse.
The stock market is beginning to realize that businesses have cut their costs to the bone. There is no more money to be saved there. Health Care Costs are so high that they can't hire people back. They can't sell things, because health insurance premiums are rising 30% across the nation and people are spending their money there. Health Care Cost are threatening to bring down the government. We are writing IOU's to China left and right to stay afloat. Think of that. We are borrowing from a country that has nuclear weapons pointed at us and will not enter in to nuclear reduction treaties.
The Republicans have begun the slippery slope of borrowing from the country that brought us a Nuclear North Korea and a Nuclear Iran. Thank You George Bush for ignoring our enemies around the world while they conspired to arm themselves with Nukes and built the largest terrorist network we have ever faced.
Terrorism is not new. During the 70's and 80's Palestinians terrorist bombed and hijacked planes, but in the world we live in now terrorist are in the process of taking over Pakistan and obtaining nuclear weapons. Say what you like, but it was only under Obama that we have begun to kill terrorist leaders and capture the masterminds behind the terrorist networks. He has gone after them any where they go. Killing them in Pakistan, Yemen and any where else they've tried to hide.

Planes, Guns, Pipe Bombs, Revolution?
Image via Wikipedia
If you think that most people are normal, look at your friends and relatives. Normal is a fantasy. Everyone has quirks. They just compensate for them. But take Mr or Mrs. Average and start to pile problems on them and they are less and less able to compensate. America's answers to problems are buck up and get a job. I did it. Other people's problems aren't my problem. Result, one day you are sitting at work and someone crashes a plane into your building. Not likely, right? More likely they walk in and start shooting. Suddenly their problem is your problem in a big way.
It's OK to kill abortion doctors and burn their clinics. It's OK to burn buildings to save puppies. Guess what if this is your attitude, your kids are learning that it's OK to commit violent acts. Result they are the ones that snap and walk into work or school with an arsenal.
You don't care. Everyone gets it. Well, that attitude has spread far and wide in America. People think all they have to do is pass a law. Great! After they shoot your kids and kill themselves, we'll arrest them.
It's time to look at your neighbors house and ask what their attitude toward their neighbors is, because your life might depend on it. It's time to realize that people you don't know, will do unto their neighbors as others do unto them.
Their is a lack of consideration in this country that is unmatched in only some third world countries. Americans don't want to be bothered. 10,000,000 people are unemployed in the U.S. Millions have no health insurance. I know not your problem. Well it's time to get the message that desperation drives people to do crazy things. If your kid had a disease and you had no insurance, I'm sure you would just tell them your sorry, put them to bed, and bury them when they died. You wouldn't try to save them.
Your neighbor loses his house, it's an opportunity for you to pick up a cheap investment property. Hey you got to get payed. Now the government has your attitude, because the politicians have your attitude. One third of the country doesn't vote, but they want their rights protected. Guess what. If your not a voter they don't care.
It's time that you start to care a lot. Unemployment is driving the deficit to record levels. Lack of health insurance is breaking the government beginning at the national level, right down to the local level. The recession is not going to end.
Is this Obama's fault. No! You wanted to get paid. Don't touch my money. Everything is fine for me. People learned a lesson during the great depression. It was a hard lesson, but a valuable lesson. When people can't afford to buy things. Everyone loses their jobs. The time when people paid their doctor's in eggs and odd jobs isn't gone for good if we don't push Congress and all our politicians to fix the problems that we have.
Not making a choice is making a choice and the result is usually bad. The Republicans are practicing avoidance. Hell all the politicians are. The bottom is about to fall out, believe it or not.
In the thirties Roosevelt had to act to prevent a revolution. Now, in 2010, we are once again on the brink of upheaval. People cared in the thirties, but now it's every man for himself. That attitude will result in an anger that spreads through out this country and without a sense of "We The People things could get ugly real fast.
Pointing fingers and whining are not going to get it done. A Bomb is ticking in America and the explosion could rock the roots of our freedom.
Freedom comes with a responsibility. That responsibility falls on the shoulders of everyone in this country. It's a responsibility to stand up for our neighbors and fellow Americans. That is the only thing that assures every one's freedom and at this moment it is missing.
When we can raise more money for Haiti than we can for our fellow Americans our very is core is at threat. Who will take care of us, but us? What country will ride to our rescue? None! As we go the world goes and we are a sinking ship. Our jobs are going over seas. You can't have an economy if no one can afford to buy. The less people there are that can buy the less competition their will be and we have seen with our banks what a lack of competition's result can be. I don't have to tell you that what we have is a robbery.

Financial Advise, Snake Oil
Image by Getty Images via Daylife
Here's the real deal. The credit score companies and the banks are working together to put you in debt and keep you in debt forever. Anyone who tells you to borrow money when you don't need to is making money off you in some way. Of course the credit score companies want you to borrow money. If you didn't they would be out of a job. They are conning you. Or more to the point blackmailing you into borrowing money. Money that you will pay in interest. Who pays the credit score companies? Anyone who is lending you money, that's who. This is why the credit score companies want you to borrow. They are making millions from constantly being asked for peoples credit scores and credit histories. They have no interest in you if you pay cash. They don't make a dime if you save up and buy things. Who pays for the people you are borrowing from to check your credit scores? You do. Do you think that the fees and interest rates they charge you are pointless. Far from it.
Now, lets look at your bank accounts. Do you get any interest from them. Add up the fees and subtract that from your interest and see what you lost. Banks are using your money and making tons of money by using your money for free. Keeping money in a bank account costs you money. People are stealing from you left and right and you are allowing it.
What should you do? First, take your money out of the bank if you are paying fees. Join a credit union where they actually pay interest. Put any money you don't need for bills in the credit union and get a debit card from them. Pay with your debit card. Don't use atm's. They are black holes that suck a hundred dollars right out of your pocket faster than a mugger could work you over. Take out a loan at your credit union and pay off your credit cards if possible? Shred all of them but one. Keep the one with the lowest interest for a real emergency. An emergency is life and death. An emergency is not the cute purse, shoes or movie that you can't do without.
Finally, don't believe anyone who gives you advice about money unless you have reseached it and they have money in it too. Then make sure they are not Bernie Madoff.
Finally if it sounds to good to be true it is. All cons play on your greed. You are a sucker if you bite. The second you hand over your money it is gone. You might as well have had it in the mattress and burned your house down your self. No One wants to make you money unless they are getting something out of it. Drive past your finacial advisors house and see where you pay for him to live. When someone manages your money, they are making money off your money. If you lose your money will they lose all theirs. If not you can't trust them? Anyone who says borrow money should be immediately banished from your life. Take absolute control of your money. Find all the things that you are getting charged for needlessly and cut them out. Food, shelter, heat and electricity, and a car may be basic needs, but you should not go into debt for life for any of them.
This is straight talk for anyone who wants to do more than work at a big box chain to supplement their retirement. Walk through all the places you go and see how many seniors are working there. You will have a new understanding of retirement. Take note of them, because if you keep throwing money down the crapper, you will be the next one on their payroll.

Big Banks Say Go Elsewhere!
Why didn't we charge them 30% interest any way. But Wait, we can still charge them 30% on the bailout. Just like them we can race the rate retroactively. Let's get paid.
Next month is skip a payment month for the major banks. Everyone gets to keep their money next month and lets the banks eat the loss. Lets see what they say then. I bet they would beg to lower our interest rates. 50,000,000 people skipping a payment ought to adjust their attitudes. If it doesn't hell we can always say take this card and shove it. We aren't paying you no more. Go beg quarters on the streets, because you are going to be poor.

The Depression In America
The, so called, recovery is a huge sham. Jobs are still being sent over seas and more people will lose there jobs after the holiday shopping season is over. The strategy of spending billions on road projects is a failure. No matter what the government says about the number of jobs that would have been lost without that strategy, the fact is that 10 percent of the country is out of work and many of those jobs will never come back. In fact, companies have decided that they can operate just fine with the employment level that they are at right now.
More and more of the information technology jobs are going out of the country. This will eventually eliminate those careers as an option. High tech is dead and buried in the United States. The only thing that is missing is the funeral.
People know that buying electronics of any kind is a fruitless pursuit, because next years model is always better. It is all a game. They have developed all these technological advances and they let them trickle out slowly, so that people will buy and buy and buy. The problem is that the content on the web and TV is dwindling into nothingness. What do you really do with your TV, cell phone and computer? You are throwing good money after bad to make these things better, but a fast computer on a slow Internet connection is still slow. Television shows run for ten episodes and end in an anti climatic mystery for the season. The same movies play sequentially from channel to channel. New releases happen once a year and are usually movies you've rented before. You spend a thousand dollars a year on your cell phone and most of the time you aren't talking about anything. The phones cost hundreds of dollars and there are dead spots. You grow apart from your friends and family, because you don't get quality time together and the phone makes your relationships less meaningful. You text people across the room, rather than talk to them. This leads to an inability to talk to people face to face, because you have lost your social skills.
We have grown apart as a society and as communities. Everything is sterile and seems to have nothing to do with our lives. Video games have replaced outside recreation. People are not only feeling the effects of the economic depression, but are generally depressed.
What's the point? The rat race needs to end. People need to spend quality time together. They need to put away the toys and live real lives. The store is not meeting your needs. You long for real relationships, but you can't let anyone into your life who isn't on your face book page. Human contact is extinct.
All these things add up to a society where people have no incentive to hire people in our own country. If people haven't got a relationship with you, they have no reason to save your jobs, because they have the same attachment to people here as they do to people in India and China. None at all. Now days a warm body is a warm body no matter where it's location might be,
There was a time when people bought from the people they knew, because those people took good care of them. Those days are over. It's dog eat dog.
Yes we are in a depression and we made this depression. We spent more than we made. We went for the quick buck and ignored the consequences. We invested our money without knowing where it was invested. We might have well stuffed it in the mattress and set the mattress on fire. We think that people with their own television shows and radio shows know what they are talking about, simply because they have a show. This depression is going to last for years. We have not turned the corner yet. We are not supporting local businesses and big business has pushed us off a cliff, time after time. There is no money flowing into our economy from any one but us and we are hurting. Buying things can not create a stable and vibrant economy. There simply aren't enough dollars for us to spend to make that an option. Americans must begin to make things again. And the things that we make must be priced to sell. No one can afford to spends hundreds of dollars on things that cost 25 dollars to make. We have to stop trying to sell things that cost the war debt to people. If we don't get realistic about what things should cost, our products simply won't sell. When fast food costs what a sit down meal used to cost there is something wrong.
When the grocery bags get smaller and smaller , so that you won't feel like your getting less and less of everything in the store and it's all half as big, we don't complain, we pay. People we are throwing money we don't have into the basic necessities of life. We are suffering day after day, because we won't stand up for ourselves. There is a sense of helplessness in this country that has grown into an epidemic. This depression is not about what you are doing. It is about what you are not doing. Americans no longer demand certain standards from business. They reach blindly into their wallets and surrender their cash for less and less product. Until you demand more for your money your going to have less money. This country will never recover until Americans demand more for less.

Dear Barak
Image by CS Muncy via Flickr
You have assembled some of the most intelligent people in the country. The problem is you listen to them. First for get the Republicans. They are living in an alternative universe. People do not care what are saying. They don't see them doing anything to give them jobs and you might point that out in your next press conference.
It's time to get your head out of your asses down there. People don't care about politics right now. They want to see action.
The health care reform issue is important. Every minute that the Senate spends playing pass the beach ball someone who is ub=insured is dying. We need a public option just to keep the insurance companies honest, because even if they can not deny coverage to people because of a pre-existing condition, they will walk through the biggest loop hole they can find. One of those loop holes is calling every thing experimental. They already use this excuse. You have one shot to get this right and passing just anything is not an option, because real people are counting on you.
Issue number 2 is Afghanistan. Troops are dying there. If you are not going to pull out then you better kick the Taliban's ass. I say this, because people are tired of the death toll on the news.
Pulling out is an option. If you pulled out let the Taliban in and then went in in force and took them out you could avoid a lot of heartache.
If you are going to put more troops in then don't announce it for gods sake. Did we announce Normandy. The post Vietnam era is full of vacillation, because we are afraid to lose and afraid to win. The bottom line is that people would support a large offensive if it produced long term results and the Afghans gained the ability to protect their country. We created the Taliban. We trained them and it's time we took them out. Afghanistan in the hands of Alquaida and the Taliban we completely destabilize the middle east and result in huge increases in the price of oil. The insurgents are attacking Iran now. If they spread militant Islam ism across the middle east we will be in a hell of a position. Doing nothing is not an option. Drop the 40,000 into Afghanistan in a massive surprise offensive and tell the press after. It is time we stop telling the enemy what we are doing.
Jobs are issue number three. No one is buying the happy talk about the improving economy. The days of spending money we don't have are over, so we know that consumers are not going to drive this economy.
If you want to cut the budget deficit in half and put people to work, start changing the countries problem with oil dependency by following T Bone Pickens energy plan. This will cut people energy bills in half. The result of cutting people's energy bills in half will be an increase in spending by the consumers of things that factories produce, rather than pouring their money down the black hole that the oil companies have become. This would also result in jobs in the private sector, increased revenue for the US government, and a huge reduction in the deficit, which is what you are all worried about down there.
These three solutions would also push your pole numbers up to where they were in November of 2008.
The problem in the White House is to much talking and hand wringing over poll numbers. For Christ sake, Roossevelt didn't spend all his time watching news bites that said he was inept. He went out and kicked tail and took names. Worrying is what happens while your life falls apart. Doing something is better than failing bcause you did nothing.
