(Image credit: Getty Images via @daylife) When the second Nine mile Pointplant was built there was an investigation of the cost over runs. The investigation was sparked by the opposition to the plant and the billions of dollars the actual cost of the plant was an the estimated cost. What I will call big power company meets Central New York corruption.
One investigation discovered that many of the welds in the pipes of the plant were never xrayed as required by the nuclear regulatory required at the time. It derttermined that one xray had been done of one weld on one pipe and been submitted as the welds on all the pipes in the plant up to that point. This probably came out because someone was not payed off as is usually the case in these things.
While doing the investigation it was reported that the mafia controlled the cement supply to the plant and that this had a huge impact on the cost of the cement and the availability of that cement. To this day no criminal investigation has publicly taken place in to those allegations and yet the nine mile plant stands and there is talk of building another in Oswego near it. Of course it should be stated that no county in Central New York has ever mentioned the mafia in the years before or since nine the nine mile plant was built, so perhaps organized crime hasn't found Central New york.
Hopefuly, for the Company that is proposing the new plant, this was all just bluster, but one wonder where those billions of dollars in cost over runs went. We never got a real answer to that.
The oil spill in The Gulf is filling the ocean with crude and the states there seem be looking at The Federal Government for answers. For decades oil companies have been drilling there and those state have collected Billions in royalties year after year for the oil that was pumped. We have paid for decades for the high price of oil. Our money went to the oil companies and straight into the pockets of those states, but it would seem that not one penny of that money went into protecting their citizens from this type of catastrophe. It is sickening to me that a small group of people in those state made millions of dollars a year off oil, and yet some of those states have the greatest number of dirt poor people in the country. It sickens me more that those people can afford to move away from the sludge and leave those people with a polluted mess. A mess that will never be cleaned up. Now the oil is predicted to move up the east coast. If that happens it will destroy the beaches of states that never saw a penny of the royalties for drilling. The same states that are crying now are going to send us there environmental disaster. We all know this story, greed leads to circumstances that leave average people holding the bag. Average people who can't afford to move to the west coast or fly to the French Riviera to swim in clean water. No one wants to point fingers in the government, at the people and the states that ignored potential disaster in order to line their pockets with cold cash. Those people don't have to take responsibility for their apathy toward the dangers of drilling in the ocean. The only people who tried to preserve the ocean were the environmentalists and they were labeled tree huggers by the people and states where they filed suit to prevent such disasters. If the oil companies have had a free ride it is because of politicians from those same states, that used all their influence to make it possible for offshore drilling to begin. They pressured the government to allow drilling in the name of energy independence. The independence never happened. More than thirty years after the oil embargo we are still begging the middle east for oil. The states that are not lucky enough to have oil flowing under them, have gotten the short end of the stick for fifty years while the oil people and the oil states raped us. Now we are about to be raped again, but this time, with millions of barrels of oil. Oil that supposedly didn't exist in such large quantities. Lost in all the suffering that is happening to average people, is the fact that one well can spew out enough oil to fill the gulf. It's a lie that they continue to try to invoke even as the oil from that well covers the coastline of the gulf. While you are watching this tragedy you should keep in mind that there is a hell of a lot of oil coming out of that well. You should also keep in mind that there are a hell of a lot of wells out there. Finally you should realize that we have been bending over and taking it for decades because there was an oil shortage. I think that by the time this is over we will all be able to prove that the only oil shortage there is, is the one that came from the conspiracy that exists to bleed us dry.
Oil pours out of the well in the "Gulf" by the barrel. It continues to destroy the envirement, but there is something else that hits me. We are paying $3.00 a gallon for gas and we keep hearing that there is an oil shortage, but thousand of barrels of oil a day are pouring from one well. If one well can produce this much oil,; Are we all being taken? If this was so precious a recource; why isn't this a national security issue? I have long believed that we are being lied to about the amount of oil that is being produced in the world. This just brings me to a firmer belief that oil is abundant. I think that oil prices are being used to keep the U.S.economy stable. So, much tax money and other revenue comes from oil that the government has a desire to see oil prices continue to rise. Oil is a money maker for every level of government in this country and around the world. I think that the U.S. encourages oil prices to rise in order to offset the deficit. Get ready for $4.00 a gallon gas again. BP and the companies involved in this tragic disaster are going to recoup their losses and your pocket is the place they are going to go. Since the 1970's The federal government has allowed energy cost to rise across the country. They are in bed with the energy companies and the anger we see fron Congress is designed to divert our attention away from their policies. Policies that are robbing us blind every time we drive our car or use energy to heat or light our abodes. Americans have become sissys. We can't stand up to our own government. The party in office is only a symptom of the problem. The problem is the carreer level government employees that run the day to day activities of the government. At $70 dollars a barrel that is a hell of a lot of money floating around "The Gulf". Coincidently there is a hell of a lot of silence in Washinton about it. The government put the economy of our country into the hands of the oil companies and turned their backs. Now a few people in a government agency are getting fingers pointed at them. The bottom line is that the government sent the message to those people not to make waves in the oil companies tubs. They did what was expected of them. Now that the picture is becoming clear surrounding the government's policy a lot of people want to keep us distracted with picturesof oil floating around. Finally, I would like to send my sincere sympothy for the families of the oil workers who were killed in this tradjedy. They have been lost in the story. Funny how the casualties seem to be forgotten. It is a disturbing pattern in the energy industry. From coal to oil and beyond.
Dan Brown spins webs of mystery. It sells a lot of books, but what it also does, is to create the desire of his readers to know the truth. The truth about government secrets is complex. The government keeps secrets about other countries that could potentially damage their reputation, like those of the Iran contra affair. It made the fact that Israel was part of the deal secret after the fact, but the reason for that was that there is probably more to that debacle than what the news organizations Knew. By making it top secret it prevented the press from pursuing it or printing all that they knew. The press knows a lot about government secrets, but they have gag orders on them, so they can not release it. There are many things that the government won't declassify simply for that reason, so the notion of a free and open press is fiction. Another thing that the government keeps secret is political scandals. Yes some get out, but by and large they are kept quiet. The reason for this is that the powerful people who are involved simply don't want people to know. These people are not just politicians, but lobbyists, corporations and very wealthy and politically powerful people. I know that these two examples are boring, but there are deeper secrets and this is where Dan Brown leads us. What are the deep secrets about power, weapons, and very secret government agencies? First you must understand that the military monitors technology and also drives it. They look for the potential for a military use of everything. The government has spent decades trying to develop the potential for military use of the mind. It goes back to the days before LSD was used to determine if it was useful as a means of breaking people and getting at the truth. The bottom line is that government doesn't want people to know the true power of the mind and the release disinformation to keep it that way. The government does not just higher experts to get to the bottom of mysteries or to develop uses for things. They also hire experts to put out lies that prevent people from learning the truth about many things that they can not keep out of the public eye. Two examples of this are UFOs and psychic ability's. Most people have had experiences with both, but they either explain it away to themselves or the government helps explain it away. Here I will talk about the secrets of the mind. Peoples brains are electrical. Actually anything that the brain controls is connected to electrical impulses. This is a fact that you probably learned in high school science class. An EEG measures the electrical impulses in the brain. Scientist have discovered that irregular brain wave patterns are symptomatic of some diseases and sometimes brain tumors. The fact is that electricity can travel. If you need proof rub your feet on a wool carpet and ground yourself by touching metal or another person. The result will be a shock. In fact enough static electricity can actually kill a person. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. Electricity can be created by two polar opposite magnetic fields with wire wrapped around it and spun rapidly. That is what a generator is. When electricity passes through objects that are good conductors of electricity, like the human body or power lines it creates a magnetic field. Electric fields are measured with an EMF detector. Now here's where it gets a bit less believable. Every living person has their own electric field. For every person this field is different. That is why some people are more sensitive to the size of electric fields that power lines generate. If another magnetic field interrupts your magnetic field there can be a reaction. We all know that electricity is a form of energy and that energy can be transferred. Tha is how a telephone works and that is how a cell phone works. Bet you didn't know that. Well it is thought that psychics pick up other peoples energy and can then turn that into visions of a past event. How? Everything that has energy leaves residual amounts of energy. Some materials such as quartz store that energy. Well you say what about reading minds and seeing the future. Well talk to Einstein folks, because he reasoned that time was not fixed in a line. I know this is hard to comprehend, but time has to do with energy. The earth spins and revolves around the sun. What does that? Gravity and gravity is linked to energy. Time here is not the same at it is on the moon. So what some scientist believe is that some people can tap into the energy that the future emits. Others believe that they pick up the energy that the earth stores up before an event, such as a disaster. The government has been studying these phenomenon for decades and it is not far fetched to think that with the help of some of the sensitive people and the greatest minds on earth, that it has learned how to manipulate it. After all energy is always being stored and released. The bottom line is that it is probable that the government has learned to manipulate people's thoughts directly by using energy. Can it control what you think? I don't know, but once you understand the nature of how the mind works you can see that it is possible now or will be in the future. Now if a agency such as the CIA or the Pentagon had that power what do you think they would use it for, Given that the government tries to find a military or alternate use for every scientific discovery that could possibly be utilized by them. So, Dan Brown is not far from the truth when he considers the potential use of the mind as a weapon or a weakness that could be subject to a weapon.
The leaders of the 21st Century in The United States are a combination of inept, corrupt, and vacillating people, who are letting the country wander directionless into the future. They spend their time trying to offend the least amount of people and throwing those people bones so that they can continue to get elected, so that they and their families will get special treatment and perks. Some are less overt than others, but in general they do not think, or do things that do not have immediate results. Long term planning has given way to quick fixes. The price of oil has skyrocketed and investors are taking advantage of the rise in oil prices by buying oil, holding it, then selling it. The leaders in The United States are getting huge donations of cash from the oil companies, so they refuse to take any action that might anger those companies. The future has become grim for our children. Because of the long distances people have to travel in this country to get to work, school, and the store the price of gasoline lowers their income. This trend is likely to continue, since the government excludes fuel costs from the inflation index, which means they don’t have to account for it. With even less oil a car may become a luxury again and since this country has a very poor mass transit system, they will have to find alternative means to commute. The high price of Gasoline and diesel fuel pushes the prices of goods higher and higher and will continue to do so. The effect on the price of goods has only just begun. There will be a long time increase in the price of all goods over the 21st century as oil becomes more expensive. Anything with plastic in it, on it or made from it will steadily rise and we all know that almost everything falls into one of those categories. The true impact of the oil crisis has been hidden from us bye politicians and the press, because it will be devastating. Things could triple in price over the next 20 years and the reality is, that peoples incomes do not rise that fast. Nevertheless the actual poverty level will rise to unprecedented levels. A salary of thirty thousand dollars may be below the actual poverty level for a single person quite soon and since more and more jobs are leaving the country rapidly, there may be few employment opportunities in the future for people. More and more people are likely to find themselves without work or prospects of work. The future of this country is literally at stake now. This country could become as economically dysfunctional as Mexico, because of the inaction of politicians. A country that no longer makes product can be completely omitted from the world economy when the peoples gross income declines dramatically. People only need to look at The great Depression to realize that there is no guarantee of jobs or income in this country and the government which has put this country so deep in debt will have no means to alleviate the suffering. This country is at the brink of the deepest depression it has ever seen and it is being ignored or underestimated by the government, economists, and the press. The problem may be complicated by inflation that is out of control, because of energy prices and the rising price of imported goods. Taxes could skyrocket as the government struggles to stabilize the situation. The wealthy may begin to migrate to other countries to escape the increased taxes and no doubt many businesses will close. This scenario may seem unreal, but at this very moment, Great Britain is beginning to see the beginning of this situation itself. The oil is running out in the North Sea and that income will not be available to the British Government. Oil Income has sustained Great Britain and its economy since its discovery. Now that money will no longer be available and England has moved away from manufacturing. They haven’t got a large Gross National Product to offset the loss of oil, so other countries will be less inclined to do business with them. The government there has not come to grips with this situation yet and no solution is in sight. The government has no ability to offset the rising price of oil and the rising cost of services and the general obligations it has. The medical system in England has begun to make the choice between treating cancer patients and keeping services for other patients. These choices will begin to affect people with other patients with other illnesses as the government tries to do more with less. Americans will be able to watch as their own future plays out in Great Britain. Green Jobs will not save The United States, because the market is not there to buy the products. Solar panels cost 5 to 10,000 dollars a piece and making homes energy efficient could cost as much as the house is worth. In some cases there will be no win situations, where a house is not worth the cost of making it energy efficient and the cost of building a new energy efficient house is beyond the owners means. These people will have no choice but to live with the house they have and these people make up the majority of home owners. It is just impractical to believe that green technology is practical for the average American. Green Technology is more likely to be large projects to produce electricity and power machinery. The jobs that this creates will be short term and will not require many employees when they are completed. The fantasy of millions of Green jobs will most likely not materialize and those jobs that are created are decades away. A nuclear Plant takes a minimum of ten years to complete and it can cost billions of dollars. The process of building enough of these facilities in a short period of time would take several decades at a minimum, because of the regulations involved in building them and the fact that there are very few companies who have the expertise to build one. Solar power is impractical for many parts of the country, because winters are long and cloud filled and other parts of the country have short days. Wind has to be placed in areas that get a breeze year round or at least the majority of the year. The reality is that natural gas promises to be the long term solution to energy problems in The United States, but the cost will not be small. Complete industries will have to change to accommodate gas in the quantities it will be needed to power the country. Cars will have to be built that are affordable and efficient and it will not be a slow process to filter down through the general population. Fuel stations will have to be replaced or renovated all through the country and the cost will not be small. Natural gas will have to be handled far more safely than gasoline. The whole process will take decades and may have to be repeated, because natural gas is a limited resource. The Future of this country will depend more on the American People than it’s leader and it always has. Politicians get credit for the work of inventors and laborers, that have changed the face of this country and the world. It is only the past couple decades that people have given their power to change The United States over to politicians and begged for help. Yes there was FDR, but his vision was to build America to save it, not sell it to the Chinese.
