Growing Up Psychic

Now that the movie, "Staring At Goats" is coming out, the truth about psychic abilities will come out. It is based on the true story of the U.S. Military's program to use psychic powers as a weapon.
Psychic abilities are not main stream, so most of us don't publicize it. I grew up psychic and so did other members of my family. Real psychics have different levels of ability, so don't start writing me about your grandmother's lost treasure. It doesn't work that way.
I come from a very Orthodox Catholic family, so we never spoke with each other about our abilities. As a matter of fact, it was never mentioned by any of us when we were growing up. To us it was natural to suddenly know something was going to happen and it wasn't like it was an every day occurence. I didn't know psychic from a hole in the wall until I was 20. That's when I started to put two and two together and began to experiment with it.
The subject here is growing up psychic, so I will stick to it. It wasn't much different from any body Else's childhood, except, I had times when things would come to me. I never spoke about it, but I found that I could avoid pitfalls that I knew were coming for me. Did I change my future? From what I can tell, everything in my life that was supposed to happen did. It's no different from looking both ways before you cross the street. If you see a car coming you're not going to cross. That's the way I see my ability. I simply saw the cars sometimes.
I know there are a lot of fake psychics out there. I have even met one. The truth is that psychics, for the most part, are very private people, who sometimes don't want to know the things they see. In my case I have learned to block out the majority of what I could see. It isn't a peasant thing to know the things that barged their way into my mind.
I think that psychic ability is hereditary in many cases. It runs in families to some degree, just like blue eyes and red hair or freckles. It is far from welcome for some of us, because I have seen things that have cripplled me. I would gladly give it away. I know the question on your mind. If your psychic why don't you pick the lottery winners or go to vegas? The answer is that it is more like being sensitive to the ebb and flow of other people`s energy. Machines don't have thoughts. I have used it in Black Jack and with all deference to the gambling industry, I believe they cheat, though I have no proof that I can show you. My experience with the casino industry has lead me to avoid betting.
Growing up with psychic abilities was about the same as someone who was good at Math. You just don't understand that every one else can't do it. I think the same goes for good musicians, it comes naturally and it is easy to take it for granted.
Please don't write and ask for messages from dead relatives or lost pets. That's not my bag.
